One of the most desirable areas of the Riviera Maya is beautiful Playacar, which is part of Playa del Carmen, but should not be confused with it. Playacar is a world unto itself, and is a gated community with many amenities. The high desirability of Playacar real estate can make it difficult to find an appropriate house or condo, but not when you are working with the dedicated professionals of Realty Executives Mexican Caribbean.
Playacar is an upscale planned community with over 10 large hotels, a well regarded 18-hole golf course, and a smattering of condos and villas available. There are two sections of Playacar, named according to their development stages. Phase I, the first part of Playacar, is on the oceanfront, while Phase II is next to the golf course.
The most desirable real estate is the Phase I waterfront area. The beaches at Playacar are stunning. The coastline varies depending on how far north or south you go, but generally speaking, in the area of Playacar the beaches are slightly slanted and slope gently down to the water. They are lined by palm trees in places and the pure white sand and crystal clear blue waters make for spectacular views.
There are even some Mayan ruins of some significance in a park in Playacar, so amateur history buffs and archaeologists will have their hands full. The area is also wonderful for a beach walk; as you head south, the coast becomes less sandy and more rocky. Eventually it becomes solid rock and the variety of terrain is pleasing to the eye
